Guam Life

These terms govern your use of Guam Life, the island's magazine, events guide and weather app, published by Kar Kulture. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Guam Life is not an official emergency information source. It presents weather and storm data from the National Weather Service, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, NOAA and others, and it reports the island's Condition of Readiness as published. It does not issue warnings and it is not a substitute for official guidance.
During a typhoon or any emergency, follow Guam Homeland Security / Office of Civil Defense and the National Weather Service. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
Guam Life is free to use. It is paid for by local businesses that advertise in it, and ads and promoted events are labelled as such. While a storm is active, the app withholds advertising and carries information only.
Advertisers are responsible for their own ads and for the goods, services and events they offer. An ad appearing in Guam Life is not an endorsement, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that business.
You can remove the ads in either of two ways:

Removing ads removes advertising only. Everything else in Guam Life is the same with or without a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.
The articles, photographs and other material in Guam Life belong to us or to the writers and photographers who contributed them, and are protected by copyright. You may read them for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, sell or otherwise reproduce them without permission.
Events are listed as their organisers describe them. Dates, times, prices and details can change or events can be cancelled without our knowledge. Please confirm with the organiser before you go, especially before buying tickets or travelling.
Weather information is inherently uncertain, and the app depends on data from third parties that we do not control and cannot verify.
Do not rely on this app alone for decisions affecting safety, property, navigation, aviation or livelihood.
The app can open phone numbers, directions, websites and ticket pages belonging to advertisers, event organisers and others. We are not responsible for those services, their content or their practices.
You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute or resell its content or the data it presents, attempt to gain unauthorised access to its systems, interfere with its advertising counts, or use it in any way that interferes with its operation for others.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app, including individual sections or data sources. Where a change materially reduces what an ad-free subscription provides, we will say so.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kar Kulture is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information presented in the app, including advertisements and events listings. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Weather data is provided by the US National Weather Service, NOAA, the US EPA, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, the Japan Meteorological Agency and Open-Meteo. Their data is subject to their own terms, and their inclusion does not imply any endorsement of this app.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Territory of Guam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
We may update these terms. The updated date above will change, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
